Frequently Asked Questions
Q – How do Orange Wednesdays work?
For full information on Orange Wednesdays please visit www.orange.co.uk/orangewednesdays
Q - What does ‘Free List Suspended’ mean?
This means that, excluding Orange Wednesdays, complimentary tickets cannot be used usually for the initial two weeks following a film’s release. These are the distributors’ conditions. This also applies to all advanced screenings.
Q – I saw a film advertised on television as ‘now showing’ but it is not in your cinema.
Films advertised on television usually refer to those released in America and the UK mainland, occasionally the release dates in Northern Ireland will differ.
There are also some films of ‘limited print’ and some that are for city release only.
Q – Do you sell gift vouchers and how do they work?
We sell gift vouchers in multiples of £5 and £10. Change will not be given; however, any cash value left on the voucher can be used at our confectionary shop or to discount an admission to the cinema on a future visit.
Q - Why can’t I find out what times the films will be showing at the Cinema for next month?
Release dates for films are often subject to change, sometimes at short notice, also the previous weeks performances have to be considered to ensure a particular film is at the most suitable time and screen for its targeted customer base.
Q – Why are the times advertised in the newspaper not the same as in the cinema?
This happens because newspapers come out between Tuesday and Thursday, the cinema week starts on a Friday and ends on a Thursday.
Any paper printed after Tuesday will advertise the following weeks cinema listings.
Q – My son is younger than 15, can he watch a 15 certificate film if I am with him?
No, the BBFC specify that no one under the age of 15 may see a 15 certificate film.
This also applies to 18 certificate films.
For more information you can visit their website www.bbfc.co.uk
Q – You have a fully restored Compton Organ, is it ever played?
Yes, we have held a number of recitals and will continue to do so. Future events will be advertised in the cinema, on our website and in the local press.
We are also looking for competent organists to play on a regular basis, to express your interest you can contact us on 02891 821000 or 02891 827000
Q - What does Advanced Screenings / Previews mean, is it the full film?
Yes, the advanced screenings or preview tag just means that the film is being shown prior to its scheduled release date.
